The turf sprint is even a novelty IMO, is there even a grade 1 turf sprint, or how many are grade 2 during the year. Again was better to have them try it in the dirt, would we have ever had a Sheik Albadou if there was a grass sprint?
You must not bet. . .

The GI Nearctic was run at Woodbine last weekend.

Thats a great comeback.......so the justification for it being the highest level of the sport is if its a great betting race.

They should make all stake races at Hoosier Park grade 1's and every race run at HP a listed stake if that was the case.

Gone are the days where racing will draw because of the quality of the horses. . . The old people and purists need to get over it.

My knowledge doesn't go far enough back to confirm this, but all anyone ever says is how much the horses of today suck compared to the horses from past generations. . . so who cares about the "highest level of the sport"?

The only way racing has any chance of surviving is if it is presented as an attractive betting product and alternative to the less intellectually driven forms of gambling that dominate the market.

Yes, she's Pletcher's 2nd best horse in the race.

That doesn't have anything to do with her sire, right?
