7-1 are decent odds on LM, he probaby goes to post at 4-1 or 5-1, so if you really like him, you are getting a little value. I don't know if the difference between getting a premium of 7-1 over 5-1 is enough to offset the risk of getting in the gate and post position is enough to accept that 2 point spread, but if he goes off at a 3 point spread, that's not too bad. I give LM a shot, you know CD will have that track rock hard and he will probably like it. Good Luck Curt, that's a nice present...

I see Lava Man going off as the 3rd choice at around 6/1 in the BC Classic (if all 3 horses go- LM, Bern and Invasor). Thats the absolute lowest I see on him come post time. If he runs a clunker next weekend or wins unimpressively, he may be as high as 8/1 or 9/1. Your not even sure he will make the trip to the BC, he could get sick or hurt or owner just may change his mind (doubtful but possible).
I'm with Randall on the 7/1 being a very value-less bet, but if indeed he wins and pays right around the same or a little higher, than its a nice cash. You never know, Bernardini and or Invasor could also get sick or hurt and not make the start in the BC too, which would greatly enhance his chances of winning (especially Bern). |

I think you would get better than 7-1 on Lava Man in the Breeders Cup Classic.
