The independents questioned involved asking them about their Congressional ballot voting preferences only, and "Support for Democrats is up two points from last week, while support for the GOP is up three points. Support for the GOP is just one point below its highest level found over the past year. Last week’s results for the Democrats tied the lowest level of support for the party during the same period. "

The highest level for the GOP last year was pretty terrible, and it's still below that. The election results played that out.

Now, people, after overwhelmingly "throwing the bums out", and selecting an overwhelmingly Democratic congress, and it seems the independents polled want to get more GOP back into the Congress. I go for that, too. We'll see what happens in a couple years.
