wasn't it a trainer? woody stephens maybe? i remember the story, but man i can't remember the person.

The veterinarian Dr. James Penny... There is a race named after him at Philly Park.

We also have the Mrs. Penny Stakes too...named after Dr. Penny's wife for kicking him out of the house that day ensuring his place in history when Broad Brush blew the turn.
