A lot of those dogs with their ears clipped n' tails docked are very low maintenance dogs. They have short hair, and never have to have it cut. A lot of times, whether to get the ears done, is optional. The short-haired dogs are the least trouble. Isn't that rat terrier pretty low maintenance? Just feed it, and get nails cut? Maybe some Frontline, or Advantage now n' then. Some of these others have to be cut every couple months, and the fleas are worse with that long fuzzy hair.

yeah, she's low maintenance. i just don't like the look of the ears and tail-just seems odd to me to do those things to a dog-is there a purpose, or is it just for looks?

My vote for best in show is always, the inimitable Millie. An 8 year old Bluetick Coonhound (not recognized by the AKC). I always love the hound and working dog group at Westminster.

Well, I thought about this for a while. I have a mutt terrier of some sort, and the Min Pins are also a terrier breed. The mutt terrier still has his tail. It's ugly, and he often curls it between his legs( and up against his tummy.) O.K.,...... THAT'S NOT A GREAT LOOK(Just trust me on that there.) I can see why they get rid of them(whether it's right, or not, is another question.)

I refuse to cut off an animals ears or tail just to please an owner's cosmetic preferences.
