i am not saying in any way that phelps should get a ton of grief. my beef is with those who give unwarranted grief on other occasions. i'm not saying phelps should be hanged, drawn and quartered. what i am saying is that i don't understand why some get a pass, and others don't.
you said above that TO is an a-hole. how do you know? because that's the spin given by the media all these years. just like another thread said, there is definitely a bias-and phelps is a recipient of that bias, while others are not.
another case in point-i've seen several times where athletes have gotten judged by the media regarding out of wedlock kids-but tom brady fathers one, and barely a ripple. he's a 'good guy'-i just want to know who decided who gets to wear a white hat, and who gets a black one.
