Well...innocent until proven guilty. He hasn't been impeached and a special election wasn't called. The IL Constitution says the Guv appoints the Senate seat...again..I KNOW, but...legally...They have to get him impeached or convicted to block Burris in the long run, IMO.


and before I get the bleeding heart liberal reply, that is not my opinion of how it SHOULD be handled. Absolutely that appointment is a big FU at the voters and the State and is tainted beyond repair. I'm just looking at it from a legal standpoint

What sucks is there are a lot of good politicians here ( yes..I did just say that) who are swept up in this guilt by association because of this a-hole and others like him. Certainly Illinios, and Chicago specifically, leaves a lot to be desired politically, but being an honest Dem or Repub and introducing yourself as the Senator or Representative from Illinois ain't much fun these days.

No evidence he is in anyway involved in any illegal activity, he is extremely well qualified and was appointed following the Constitution of Illinois and the US. Until/if the Gov is removed from office, the law is clear...he appoints the person to fill the senate opening. This is pure politics at its worst...seat the man! According to CNN today, there are no Blacks in the new Senate...this is a racial battle waiting to happen...absolutely no reason to play politics here!
