Dahoss! Since you're the man teaching Wagering Strategies 202, I have a semi-serious question for you(or another experienced player).

Today's 8th race at Belmont, I like two horses, neither of whom Steve Byk mentioned on his picks for that race: Offhand Remark and LuckOffhand Remark is 5-1 ml odds and a frontrunner who has demonstrated some initial success on grass. Luck is 20-1 ml odds, yet has beaten Offhand Remark on wet dirt. I wonder if Luck is a mudder, or whether he's come around and will close well on turf today.

What do people think of how to wager the race if you liked these two horses?

And, what do you think of the chances of either horse?

happened to notice you mention Luck, at 20-1 ML for me he is a must play as I feel one of three closer will win and he is one of them

Trust me, I'm not the man when it comes to wagering strategies. That's always been my weak point, actually betting the horses I like correctly. Maybe it's a coincidence, but Crist's system has done me well.

Anyway, I think it's possible Luck has come around. She obviously didn't mind the mud the last 2. but, her turf races aren't that far off some of these. My only problem is can a horse like that win 3 in a row? I think Offhand Remark has a big shot as well. I'm mostly a multi race player, so I'd try to hook them up in a double, pic 3 or pic 4 with others. Or, you bet exactas. Definitely box your two and then maybe use your horses on top and underneath others that you think have a shot. Or, if Luck is 20-1 a win bet isn't a bad idea. Hope that helps and if it doesn't, blame GPK.
