Somer,
Now that's something I totally agree with you on.
This guy gives me the creeps, but he's entitled to the same system of justice as all of us are.
He might be a "grandstander"...I don't know.
He might be a pedophile...again, I don't know.
Does he deserve a "fair trial"? That I do know.
Give him a fair trial, and let the jury decide.
I'm all in favor of justice.

btw...I agree with GR. There is a very big difference between homosexuality and pedophiles. Both are outside "acceptable behavior" by many in our society. Gay people don't usually murder children. I don't know why others are so threatened by them. They should be allowed to find whatever they want with consenting adults.
Pedophiles are repugnant...whether with little boys or little girls.

You guys are taking my tongue in cheek humor too seriously. You really should lighten up. First and foremost I feel terrible for what this poor family has been and is still going through. Secondily I have nothing against gay people. I have a couple of friends who like to play pattycake with the same sex, dont bother me at all. Third, I was seriously appalled by the guy's photo. He looks like a psycopath and I hope the truth comes out. What the hell is he doing living in Thailand anyways and writing letters to the family? Surely a guy his age can find better things to do with his time.

Thanks for clearing up your opinion, Gander.
I just wanted to say that whether a six-year-old, male or female, was murdered ten years ago, a hundred years ago, or yesterday...it touches a nerve with me. I DO take that very seriously.
The Ramsey family has been put through horrible accusations.

Gay people don't operate from the same places as pedophiles.
I don't understand a lot about "gay" people, but that's not for me to judge.
Pedophiles...they are the worst forms of wasted oxygen. The damage they cause to others is beyond my ability to find a word suitable to express my disdain.

As far as "What was he doing in Thailand?"...I don't know ...but I'm sure it will come out at trial.
The Boulder prosecutor was very cagey today. She has the case of her life in front of her, and she didn't want to say anything to jeopordize it.
I have every confidence that the truth will be brought forth. We just have to allow the justice system to prove it.
Even if Karr is found innocent, he'll never live a "normal life" again.

something is rotten in the state of denmark....

i think this confession may end up falling under the heading of 'too good to be true'...i'm thinking more and more, as more comes out, that this guy is not quite toting a full load, and that this confession is false. dna testing should go a long way towards answering the question of whether he's really involved. this is far from over.

Have to agree I think maybe this guy either *thinks* he did it (i.e. has convinced/dellusioned himself) or wishes he had. He's certainly guilty of something, but I'll be really interested in this now because there are a lot of things that don't jibe.

Thanks from me, too, for the clarification, Gander. You'd be amazed at the large number of people who do think gays and pedophiles are synonymous so I'm afraid my tongue-in-cheek radar wasn't turned on at that point yesterday.

Here's a pretty good NYTimes article on the guy and the case:

I work in advertising. I am surrounded by people who prefer the same sex and believe me, they are harmless. While I can not figure out what would posess a man to find men more attractive than women, its their choice and it doesnt make them any more inclined to committ haneous crimes.

This is just an awful thing and I hope it gets put to bed one way or another.

That's the trouble with how these cases are handled by the media, in their blood-lust to scoop everybody, they print all sorts of mis-information calling it "news". The officials in Thailand have changed their statements a couple times...hardly surprising! Some poor guy not use to being swarmed by the media gets a dozen microphones thrust in his face and god knows what comes out his mouth! Time folks...this will take time! The evidence will be presented and a jury (assuming it goes to trial) will decide. In the meantime, all this speculation is just that...every network has a never-ending parade of "experts" giving their opinions...all crap! I don't care how much experience, education etc someone has, they can't make informed comments without accurate and complete information! There is a lot we obviously don't know...details he allegedly knew that were never made public etc etc. The guy could be anything...obviously he has a troubled past. His wife says he was with her at the time but can't recall even where they were...lots of conflicting information...all thrust on us as "facts"! Whatever happened to verifying sources and responsible journalism?
