Is that the Croc farm on the way to Port Douglas?

I loved Port Douglas, stayed at the Sheraton Mirage.

That whole area is so beautiful.

Loved Port Douglas also !!! ,Im making sure for next years Cairns Cup we are going to stay at port for at least 3 days so we can go over to the great barrier reef as well as head up further north.

The crocs were at a place called Daintree & they are not farm crocs they are wild they live on the Daintree River about 45 minutes past port douglas

It's well worth it. We did either a low isles day or outer reef, since your girls are little they may prefer the low isles, water is calm, you hang out on an atoll all day or the catamaran, glass bottom boats. The outer reef can get rough and you can only be in the water or on the boat.

Yikes you got close to wild crocs....I just figured you were at the croc farm, do they still have that huge croc figure in front. And yes I know where you followed the Daintree.
Hey I even did the nerada tea plantation, might have caught a glimpse of a casawary. I just thought Port Douglas was so cool, so old and historical. It was like movies I had seen about Australia.

So how was the racing? I never had time to get to any racing venues when I was there or in New Zealand, was in Melbourne during the Cup but alas not able to go, had to do the fairy penguins and the koala park....but I did get to meet some long lost cousins.

Racing was fantastic we had a great day,we booked tickets so as to include a meal & the locals turned out all dressed to the max with fashion on the field, I blew about $900 didn't pick a winner all day, where as the girls went on lucky numbers & would you believe picked the winner or place getter in every race they came out with about $50.
Meet people there from all around Aussie who where there just for the country cups like darwin & cairns
