Kevin,

I bet you liked that commercial (I know I did) with Earl Woods talking while they are showing clips of Tiger from all ages.. and at the end he says "I told Tiger that he will never meet a person who is as mentally tough as he is, and he never has, and he never will."

Seems pretty fitting for this week doesnt it.

A class act, both yesterday and today. No doubt gained more than a few fans this week.

I agree. Tiger himself stated it only hurt AFTER contact, meaning it didn't affect his play.

Not a bad little player. Triple career grand slam now...won them all at least 3 times at age 32. He may just have a future.

2 days in a row, the guy needed a 4 on a par 5 to win the U.S. OPEN, and couldn't do it. There is no doubt that he played (for his ability) incredibly well, but he doesn't have the game to be a major champion. People don't realize it, but Tiger did the game a huge favor by making sure it took a major talent to win a major golf tournament. By "doesn't have the game," I am mainly talking about length. Rocco's length hurt him. It is a flaw(sorry, Kev.)

Length is not a major factor...it helps but multiple major winners who were not long...

Larry Nelson, Hale Irwin, Jose Maria Olazabel, Lee Janzen, Nick Faldo, Curtis Strange, etc, you could go on forever.

Even Zach Johnson who won the Masters last year is not a long hitter. You go 90 holes dead even with Woods you have the game to be a major champion. He isn't though.

Notice how Tiger didn't panic of the last 2-3 holes, when he was down 1 shot. He knew he had a distinct advantage on the 18th hole. Many others would have began to press severly being down like that and just make matters worse. Tiger is always aware of the situation at hand and knew that there was no need to press. He didn't panick on 16 when he hit that incredible shot from the fairway bunker on the other hole. I'm telling ya, people have no idea how great that shot was. He just has the mental toughness that others do not. I told the guy at work, before either player had even hit on the first sudden death hole, that Rocco was dead mentally. I could see it on his face. He knew he had his chance and didn't get it done then. You have the give the guy some credit...he played the last 6 holes in 3 under par going head to head against the best in the world. It just simply wasn't enough against Tiger.

I have said it before...being alive during this era and being able to witness what we see when Tiger plays is something that I know I will cherish. He is a credit to the sport of golf and deserves every accolade tossed his way.
