to be honest the race was below expectations. We didn't get the big pace duel. Who cares what bobby fischer did Hooves? What about the race? I talk about the race, I get criticised for not having a "pick", then I offer live wagers and turn a profit, even with the race going topsy-turfy.

do you want some reaction? I don't get it. Lets talk about the races.

I still think A.P. Excellent is weak. He had things his own way and could only manage 2nd. I don't know that there was a lot to bet back in this race.
Be careful about using that kind of statement on here. It's apparently frowned upon to have your own expectation and to be disappointed when they aren't reached.

Brilliant. You still don't see where you contradicted yourself.

You said Magnificience did not run a disappointing race. In the very same sentence, you said she failed to meet your expectations with her race.

If the definition of disappoint = failure to meet expectations of someone (you), then that sentence is a contradiction.

Needless nitpicking? Yes. But when you're trying to give everyone else on the thread the high-hat, you ought to check your wording carefully lest you look foolish.

I watched Donovan Bailey run 100m in 9.84 seconds, setting a world record. I watched Maurice Green run it in 9.79 seconds, setting a world record. Both times, the men came away saying that they were disappointed in their races because they felt that they didn't run their best and were capable of better. I'm not sure what is so hard for you to understand here. I expected her to run away and look as good as I saw her last year. She didn't. So that means that she didn't meet my expectations. But in the grand scheme of things, she didn't run that bad a race, a pretty decent time on a new track and surface. Perhaps if you had wanted to just say that my expectations may have been too high, that we may have agreed on. But as you said, this was just needless nitpicking at something that wasn't really confusing at all.

The good question is who ran with the most drugs in their system. I'd put Maurice Greene as the slight favorite over Donovan Bailey and the Headley Mag.

Sniper, I consider u a smart guy. Does it seem so ridiculous to you how I could have thought she ran a decent/good race but still been disappointed by it?

While I've thought plenty of things you have said are ridiculous this is one I definitely agree with. She was a shell of her former self and unless she moves way up in her next race she deserves no more mention than whatever crappy stakes Brass Hat is running in.

The assertion that Wicked Style was taking a "huge drop in class" is very primitive, inaccurate and not shared by any competent handicapper. BBB
