Horse racing continues to shoot itself in the foot. The Derby and Preakness on NBC. The Belmont on ABC. Breeders Cup on ESPN.

Nobody (general public) knows where to look to find the damn sport anymore. It's only available in specialty press, specialty papers, specialty internet, specialty TV. I know fans who are interested in horse racing, and just realized the Derby is in days. Why? They haven't heard much about it unless they seek it out.

I've started referring everyone (fans, general interest) to The Bloodhorse website. It's got everything for them - videos, interviews, faces on the personalities, the horses ....

DRF on the internet seems near-dead to me - handicapping only. I hardly go there any more. Bloodhorse gets the breaking news up more quickly, more accurately.
