thanks. I have been playing in these contest on and off for the last 20 or so years and lately have been turned off the multiple entry guys with their shills. not really a handicapping contest anymore. more like just a numbers game. so i was looking for another way to get back into it if this is any different

Actually, one of the important goals of the NHC tour is to prevent people using "beards" to get multiple entries. Since only entries in your name earn tour points, this problem should be greatly reduced. To answer the other questions, the $125 gets you netry into the March 1 on-line event. You can then play in any tournament which awards qualifying spots and if you do well in them earn tour spots as well but would pay whatever the normel entry fees are. One other key bonus is that the top three in tour points who don't otherwise qualify will get an NHC birth through the tour. There are lots of things to like.
One potential thing to worry about in Florida is that the legislature has made any pay for play contest (including handicapping contests) illegal. That means there will be no in-person contests in Florida. Places like Tampa and Calder are out of the contest business. Paul |

It is a shame. I always liked the Tampa contests. I don't know how this became a priority for the Florida legislature but have to imagine that there are more pressing concerns in your state than whether we play in handicapping contests.

Multiple entry guys suck. They take the fun and sport right out of these contests and think they are a big deal if they win. A couple of years ago some Syracuse dude had like 50 entries in the NYRA showdown and that loser won. So, I don't play cuz it's no fun.

my sentiments exactly sumitas. but this sounds a little better because of the yearlong tally of points in your own name. but the multiple entry guys will still get in for the individual prize $
