He's OK, but he's had great trips in both of his last two races, and the horses that finished behind him are decidedly mediocre. His fig two back, the 85, is absurdly high, and needs to be lowered. It's screwed up by the other inner 1 1/16 race that had a dramatically slower pace.

Hey, he's a price, and I don't want to talk you off him at 12-1. I just don't see it. But that's the case with a lot of winners.

BTW - You were right about Banrock... Although Stepaside gave a good account of himself and ran about how I had hoped.

Tapped exacta X5 so I'm happy.

Excellent. Great job. Step Aside ran better than I thought.

I tried to get Exton to run second.

Thanks. Once and a while, it goes exactly the way you see it.

Figured Banrock and Stepaside would sit trip behind those two leaders and get first crack at them.

Obviously would have preferred if Stepaside got the jump on Banrock. But I'm not complaining....

Pick6 was too tough for me with the 2YO races. I will hope it blows up in the first two legs and carries again...

Gonna roll a few late pick4 tickets with Pointman and enjoy watching today.

Ticket #1
R6 - 1,3,4,5,7
R7 - 1,2,3,6
R8 - 2,3,5
R9 - 5
$60

Ticket #2
R6 - 1,3,4,5,7
R7 - 1
R8 - 2,3,5
R9 - 1,2,5
$45

Ticket #3
R6 - 1,3,4,5,7
R7 - 2,3,6
R8 - 2
R9 - 1,2,5
$45

Grand Total - $150

Good Luck!

Eeked out negligible profit. Have to think if Atoned holds on payout is a completely different story... Live to fight another day.

I was really pulling for the 10 Trickonometry in the finally as that would have given me the Pick 4, I was alive to the 1,4,5,7,10 in the closer. I foolishly left the 2 off of my ticket, what a Jack A$$. I should have protected, but all I could think of was Harvey Pack saying to never bet a horse to do something for the first time.

To turn this into a lerning experience what should I have done knowing I was alive to to 5 of the 9 horses? Should I have covered with them somehow? Just curious as to what others would have done in that situation. Been doing this for 25+ years and still have a lot to learn.

By the way the P4 I played was:

2,3 / 1,3,6 / 2,5 / 1,4,5,7,10 = $60

Funny you say that, because that is exactly why I played against him. Caught it for a buck, but cut him from any $2 combinations for that reason

I covered him a bit because it was a Pletcher First Turf, respectable Beyers and good Sire first Turf # (17% I beleive).

Maybe it should be "don't KEY a horse to do something for the first time." Although it would have certainly been OK today...
