You can't even say you could beat a division 2 team. Next year would you please schedule appalaichan state and let them beat your ass in south bend!
NEBRADY,

The Penn State qb's havn't been chartering a plane to NFL stardom. In fact please name me one successfull PSU QB in the last 30 years. And no 1st round bust Todd Blackledge does not count. ND pro QB's are hall-of-famers by comparison

Like I said, before passing judgment lets see what Clausen does in his first start this Saturday, and lets see what Brady Quinn does in his first NFL start in the NFL.

They are already touting the HS Senior QB that they just signed as the challenger. NEXT!

Well, Kerry Collins was a starting qb in a Super Bowl. Chuck Fusina was a USFL wizard. Wally Richardson got key XFL minutes. I think Michael Robinson is a 3rd down running back for the 49ers. Tony Sacca got drafted. Todd Blackledge is in fact a successful college football color commentator on the TV. John Shaffer works on wall street. Success is simply in the eye of the beholder. PSU qbs are quite successful in the last 30 years. I'm sure Clausen is on his way to 4 or 5 Heisman's like that other guy...Powlous or something like that. I cant' even remember how to spell his name. Or was that another guy who was going to win 5 Heismans??

but Joe Montana...That other Joe...Theisman, Terry Hanratty, who wasn't much more than Blackledge as a pro. Blair Kiel?? Rick Mirer. Tony Rice. Steve Beurlein. Powlus...how do you spell that guy's name?? So yes, NOtre Dame's qbs have been much better than PSUs in the pro game. Montana and Theisman were stars...Beurlein was good, the rest...not so great. I'm sure I'm forgetting some.

I'll run naked through the streets if Notre Dame beats Penn State this year.

I didn't say anything about penn st. quarterbacks. The fact is nd sucks and now clausen gets to get jacked up by the lions. More and more excuses from the nd man. Face it you know its desperation time when the coach is already putting in another qb after the first game. Too bad its not gonna help. Its time to feed the lions a little irish meat. Yummy taste like chicken and plays like one to. As for quinn, your right the browns aren't stupid and throwing him out to the wolves yet. But when he does, getting ready to hear he got jacked up. By the way gbbob make sure your wearing a helmet when hitting the wall.

Clausen has been the #1 guy the entire time. After the spring game, Weis said that Clausen was the #1 QB, but because of the elbow surgery he missed some practice so wasn't fully ready yet. Clausen gives them the best chance to win, that is why he is the starter.

GO IRISH!!!

well, certainly a banged up true freshman QB, who barely got the kinks worked out preseason due to surgery, and has thrown all of six passes thus far this year, would be MY pick to lead my team to victory. no doubt notre dame fans will sleep soundly in the coming days.

First i'm not a ND fan and will be happy when they are not bowl eligible. You brought up the ND Qb's were pro busts. Since you were mentioning PSU I just pointed out there pro QB success was even worse. The fact that you were able to reference PSU qb's as USFL and XFL stars helped make my point better than I did. My sincere thanks.

I readily admitted ND qbs were better in the NFL...mentioning 3 that were HOFers near HOFers or just very good. However the most successful PSU NFL qb had quite a few problems off the field for quite awhile...Collins. So as I said success is relative. Just because Blackledge stunk in the NFL, does not mean he isn't a success in every other way. I would consider him a "successful" PSU quarterback. My post was meant to be funny. I am a Penn State grad, and I know PSU quarterbacks have not done well at the next level, and I know many PSU running backs have been complete busts also...(Blair Thomas, KiJana Carter, Curtis Enis). I was simply poking fun at my own school. Let's talk about coaches however?? I aim to please in teh sports section here!!

Are you still happy with JoePa? He is one of the 5 greatest coaches of all time, there is no debate. But his last 10 years have not been great. I sense there are a lot of PSU alum who would like to see him step down in a classy manor and not embarrass himself. He has been increasingly surly with the press and his press conferences seem less coherent.FYI-- I attend at least 2 PSU home games a year and my wife is a Penn State Alum.

Most people who follow college football will know that Penn State isn't famous for producing QB's. They are more famous for LB'S. Name me the last successful NFL QB that has come out of ND other than Joe Montana, who by the way played high school in Western Pennsylvania you can say the smae for Dan Marino and Jim Kelly just to name a few.
