I will make one comment. I am not a Byrd fan,but as a 4th to 5th starter I'd like to know who boasts much better. The problem is primarily Wedge and his complete inability to realize where to put who as well as having some of the most eye popping philosophies known to baseball kind.....no conception how to win little ball games.I have to give Shapiro credit here as well. |

If you check CC does not not have history of injury...Carmona could be..or just had a bad game which is more what I think.......Blake looks too fuzzy..I agree.....Borowski is scarier than Wickman.
But ,just one example, Wedge players like Nixon have to go. Gutierrez is going to be a junior model of Clemente....if Wedge ever sees it before he decides to dump him like Phillips and the pitcher Baltimore took off our hands. That's only a snippet. |

The thing I could never understand about making a closer out of Carmona is that he is pretty hitable and doesn't strike guys out, which you would think is the mark of top closers. I guess because he is a big guy and they needed someone to be the closer. Getting Nixon didn't seem to make much sense and I guess hasn't. I have never understood why Shapiro has been in love with Wedge, still dont. |
