Neither of them is a professional pol ... and neither ever endured an election campaign.

Powell and Rice could never do this first time out ... they'd need a race over the track first. You can run for local office (maiden) ... state office (allowance) ... or even senator or governor in your home state (state-bred stakes) ... but not for president (G1) first time out.
