That is the right way to hand time the race. I've seen people hand-time races from the moment the gate opens, and they get all the run-up, so the time will always come back much slower.

Well that's what I did the very first time I watched it, but realized it came back way way too slow and then I realized what I had done. If you get a chance, or find the equipment to hand-time it, I'd love to see what other people find. I really could not find a single timing out of about seven that broke 49. Most were on the cusp of 50.

there are a bunch of media players for windows that show you the time log for a video.

if someone would like to send me the video, i can actually use an editor to do a frame by frame analysis. meaning that i can find out the right frame to start it, the right frame to end it, and subtract the difference.

pretty simple.

That would be the best way, I'd imagine. I just looked for the first timepiece I had that acted as a stopwatch.

I hope someone has the video. It seemed too fast to be true the first time I saw it -- and am confused still.

dont you have the video spencer?

i thought someone said they had it on tivo.

it's easy enough to transfer a video from your tivo to your pc, remove the built in video protection and convert it to mpg, then use an editing program to dissect it.
