I haven't watched a beauty pageant in years- the last one I saw (USA or America; I don't really understand the difference), one of the finalists was asked which would be more important to the US's future, the information superhighway or the space program (this was back in the mid-'90s). I'll never forget the look of abject terror on her face, and then her yammering on about the space program being more important because "we need to know what's out there." It was pretty easy to see she had NO IDEA what the "information superhighway" was.
I just knew it would never get better than that. Unless she had discussed toll booths for the information superhighway. That would have been better.
