This is a step in the right direction for the industry. In the end, the wagering drives the business at these tracks, and having a comprehensive outlet for betting most major outlets is the way to go. I liken this somewhat to the merger of XM and Sirius recently.

Pari mutuel online wagering in horse racing is a fat and gluttonous beast. Just like satellite radio. Now, the two biggest boys join hands and trim the fat around the excess. TVG is left in the cold as of right now, but I dont think it will be for long. Are you telling me the execs will honestly think they can run a true network with the crown being the NYRA and the undercard being Oak Tree, Hollywood, Del Mar, and Los Alamitos? Doubtful.

TVG will be squeezed by the tracks they have exclusive deals with to join the new CDI/Magna venture because they offer more opportunity for wagering dollars, which are needed.

This is a good day for racing IMO.
