I was just surfing the net and came across this tribute video on an Italian site, it uses some of the least racy pictures set to an interesting song selection...obviously the makers love the pic of her and the rose pedals. I post it to show that Europeans have a different perspective on sex than America...as far as AI being a "singing contest", I think it's more than that...personality plays a huge role, as does the uniqueness of the performances...look at last year's winner! I agree that she would have to improve but suppose she does stay and does a better job next week? I guess I just feel for the girl, the former bf who has apparently posted these pictures appears to be a real scumbag...I simply can't imagine doing something so vile to someone I cared for...or even if I didn't care for...

You can bet all a big conspiracy to promote Idol, which by the way hardly needs promoting. This girl is bubble gum teen pop all the way. Not very interesting and I wont even bother trying to find her pics, shes really way overrated. Reminds me of Flower Alley (not in the way she looks but of the hype)....

The bottom line about last years winner, was that he was really able to sing!

Oh this is going to be a long season discussing this with you.

Bottom line he could sing? He was MAYBE worthy of making the final six. It almost made me stop watching the show because I was so incredulous that he won the competition.

And that opinion has been completely reaffirmed by the fact that his album completely tanked compared to those who didn't take home the title last season.

For the record. I thought Chirs was hands down the best singer last season and arguably the best one in the six seasons. But I like rock music the best. At first I liked Taylor, but at the end I wanted to see him get whacked Soprano style! That whole personality versus singing contest came in to play. Taylor had more than Katherine and it helped him that Katherine wasn't that good on the final night. I look foward to discussing this season with you guys. Or at least until Kentucky Derby time!

I decided I'm going to blog about it on my blog during the season with notes and all that corny bullcrap from every performance night. i'll be cross posting everything in an american idol thread which i hope will distance itself from porno pictures

i'm sure it's going to be fun, because even my partner and i can't agree on what's good and what's bad....but i don't think he knows very much about music and what's good or bad. so there is some comfort in that.

case in point. he noticed NOTHING wrong with the first half minute of phil stacey's performance on tuesday night. NOTHING AT ALL. Except that I pointed out that those thirty seconds were without a doubt the most wretched thirty consecutive seconds of any performer on either night.

Agreed about Phil the other night. It started off like a train wreck. Looking
forward to the American Idol recap thread.

Oh, I agree that he could sing...but so could 2-3 others equally well...what won it for him was his energy on stage, his personality...he developed a strong and loyal following! You have to have talent, that's a given but all I'm saying is that usually it comes down to who stands out with their overall performance...otherwise, Opera-trained singers would be winning the crown every year! Very few big name entertainers get to the top on voice only...Paul Robeson did, Elvis has a wonderful voice but there was a lot more there, Elton John can sing but his personality made him, same with the Beatles, Stones, G&R...

Blech, I can't stand Taylor Hicks. His so-called "personality" reminded me of many nights I've spent in bars watching music. He's the kind of guy who has this smarmy stage presence for the opening band that you just wish would shut up and stop being a corny karoake-bar type singer and get offstage so you could see the band you came to see.

Just my two cents. Worst Idol yet, if trumping Ruben were even possible.

Taylor was the best Idol had to offer last year. McPhee sucks more than Antonella.

That's debatable from what I've seen...would you have said that if you didn't see her photos.
