You had an okay day, too bad the short one didn't go in. I really fancied Ballaney Jewel today, and 2nd yet again. Someone 'up there' is telling me to give up for a while!
Yeah, I'm struggling with a touch of 2nditis at the moment. Just have to keep on stuggling on!

Would love to get over to watch some racing in SoCal, Santa Anita looks a pretty sweet course, would certainly beat Sledgefield on a very grey Tuesday!

Wise Owl???? That would have been my maximum lay today. Never liked the horse's attitude on the flat and pulled very hard last time.

Beaten easily today i'm afraid.

Santa Anita does look very nice and i think i will enjoy it there

Got to say I thought it was a penalty kick for Wise Owl today. Looks like the ground is softer than the 'soft' description. Fingers well and truly burnt!!

Did you get to see the race from work?

He did what i saw him do plenty of times of the flat - travel really well and looking as if it was a 'how far' job and then all of a sudden, McCoy had his stick up and the horse was running on the spot.

Whether it is just the case he finds little of the bridle, or maybe he is a bit of a 'dog'.

Ground was very, very soft there today. He will be better on good ground round sharp tracks.

Think its unfair to say he dogged it. Whilst he showed signs of being ungenuine in his younger days, nothing that he's done recently on the Flat would make me think that. Possibly a combination of doing too much early yesterday (was pretty keen) with the testing conditions saw him undone. Either way he was disappointing. Take the point that better ground/sharp track will see him in a better light.
