Default Clark

Does anybody know
why they decided to run the Clark on Friday instead of Saturday
which would’ve made more sense with more attendance and more viewers

It is very difficult to know what goes through the minds of racing executives. But, I can take a guess. On Saturday evening, U of L is hosting UK in a state football rivalry. The football stadium for U of L is very close to CD. They may have not wanted to compete with the football game, or may have wanted to avoid major traffic congestion. The Clark has enough significance among racing fans that it should draw a large crowd and handle on Black Friday as well.

Saturday would likely draw a lot of viewers anyway so probably trying to draw more viewers on Friday when they know lots of people home with not so much to do. Better to have two big race days than one? But maybe i should say bettors, not viewers.
