I've been a huge Bags fan since 4th grade ('95?). At the time, it was only because of his cool batting stance and that he was the reigning NL MVP, but as I became older and wiser I remained a fan because of his class and commitment to the Astros (same with Biggio). As you said, there should be more like him.
On the cute side, I named my old dog because of Bagwell. I was big into baseball at the time as I played a lot and kept score with my dad for his rotisserie team. I wanted to be Bagwell so bad that I named my dog Biggio, who at the time batted number 2 in front of Bags. Despite the fact she was a girl (I was a lil kid), she was to be Biggio and I Bagwell. And for this reason, I will always be indebted to both Biggio and Bagwell.
Lastly, it's a shame the two of them could not win a World Series together with the franchise they were devoted to.
