Turns out 35,000,000 people in the U.S. suffer from a condition our government refers to as "food insecurity." The U.S. Dept of Agriculture has been using this term for some years but only very recently changed the terminology for the worst-off households from "food insecure with hunger” to households having “very low food security.” One in nine people in the U.S. suffer from hunger.
