Edit: Mondy night, the RNC has pulled all funding from Akin for his senate race But, if the GOP does get him off the ballot, they can't just put anybody else on. Maybe, legally, the second-place finisher in the GOP primary, if they can get Adkin to drop out before close of business tomorrow? Not sure about that, but must be true. Because otherwise they would be left with an empty slot next to "Republican for Senate" on the ballot.
