![]() I wonder why no one ever mentions shutting down the empire and closing about 900 of our thousand military bases overseas and re-opening massive amounts of them here. Wouldn't that be a US jobs program? Bringing people back to the continent? The ending of empires by definition is never pretty in any scenario. All historical empires end...we need to admit to that fact and attempt to do it wisely. People are extremely stupid however so that's a problem. I am still trying to wrap my head around the concept of the "deficit". The only time it was ever mentioned in the period from 2001 to 2009 was in the context that "deficits don't matter". What happened to make "deficit" the most important word in American history the last 3 years?? And now that word matters more than any word in American history?? This country is so far down the rabbit hole, there is simply no turning back at any point. It's pretty much a done deal.
Now if I were president, I would declare a war on table. I would destroy every table in the world because that would be a great war. I choose "table" because I know what tables are. I know I couldn't win this war which would ensure it could last forever. Some clown would build another table after I destroyed every last one because they think they need one. It might be in Greenland where the first new table would be built. I could go there then. And spread my anti-table philosophy. This is our world right now. Declare war on words and go from there. It's brilliant. drugs, terror, table, manure, deficit...it's all the same. They're just words that can't be eradicated from the dictionary. War on all of them. Blowing **** up and imprisoning people is what we do better than anyone in this world. Yet as well as we imprison people, guys like clinton, bush, cheyney, obama when his current gig ends will never be imprisoned. Why is that? Lets just declare a war on bad spelling.
