![]() I’m headed to Florida next week for 10 days of golf and Gulfstream (Fountain of Youth, the crescendo). The only analogy I can use for my selections this weekend was a typical golf round for me. It was mostly pretty bad, but I sprinkled in the occasional birdie to keep me coming back. Sunday’s BEST BET (#1 Musca $12) selection came through in the finale in what was an ugly day of handicapping. I know there are a few avid and Pro golfers (GPK) on DT that would understand my analogy. My moniker isn’t Bogey for nothing. Both playing the horses and playing golf need a great deal of practice and patience to be successful.
Fair Grounds R3 – OC50k / N1X (3yo 8F & 40yds) #5 Walking the Beach – Attempts to bounce back after a disappointing performance in his two turn debut last month. He should be in a nice stalking position behind the runner to his inside (#4 Down With Dixie) and outside (#6 Hotep). This is a major race for the Calhoun runner because it will determine his future considerably. Was his last race just a throw out or was his visually impressive maiden score at CD just a product of a pace meltdown? I’m giving him another shot and hope to get 3-1 on the son of Medaglia d’Oro today. Showed very little down the stretch, maybe he'll try the lawn next time or go back to sprinting. Good Racing Luck
