The horse is special to those not fixated on figures. He's special because he's able to run at a reasonably high level on at least 2 surfaces. And when he handles Poly reasonably well, he'll be all the more special for it. Of course, he just won't be fast enough for some. Because, let's face it, horse racing really is about DIRT RACING and all the biases that come with it.

All week I'm reading how this supposed strong field is going to kick his butt. He takes the worst of it in terms of setup and he still holds off Proudinsky under, essentially, tap urging and a loose rein by the jock. He changed leads like a 1st time starter and also drifted a bit in the lane, YET Proudinsky couldn't get by. So, either he's okay or Proudinsky is a plug. Probably a little of both.
