Default oracle...here's your explanation

from the NYRA site...

Trainer Tom Albertraini said Darley Stable’s Songster came out of the Amsterdam with no problems. Looking back at the Amsterdam, Albertrani believed there were a couple of factors for his colt’s defeat.

“I think the pace was against us and it set up the race for Court Folly,” he said. “We fell into a bad scenario being that close to the quick pace. Songster still ran a good race. He got clear from the pacesetters and was running in the end.”

Albertrani had Darley’s Balletto on the track walking around for the first time this morning since being beaten a nose to Spun Sugar in Sunday’s Grade 1 Go for Wand. He is considering the Grade 1, $400,000 Personal Ensign as the next possible start for Balletto.

“We just got her back on the track this morning and she looked fine,” Albertrani said. “She ran an unbelievable race in the Go for Wand. We were hoping she won that photo. If she’s training well, we’ll run in the Personal Ensign. If we don’t get the good vibes from her, then we’ll look ahead at something in the fall.”

Albertrani had Grade 2 Ohio Derby winner Deputy Glitters put in a final work at Belmont Park on Tuesday before the horse runs in Sunday’s Grade 1 Haskell Invitational at Monmouth Park, which also cancelled today. Deputy Glitters breezed six furlongs in 1:18.

Deputy Glitters run against Bluegrass Cat, who finished ahead of him in the Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes, and Grade 2 Dwyer winner Strong Contender in the Haskell. Deputy Glitters, however, did beat Bluegrass Cat in the Grade 3 Tampa Bay Derby.

“He’s been training well for the race,” Albertrani said. “We’re going into the race hoping for the best. Bluegrass Cat beat us twice, but we did beat him once. If Deputy Glitters runs well in the Haskell, it would be nice to have two horses running in the Travers.”

Albertrani said Bernardini is still going well four days later after his dominating performance in Saturday’s Jim Dandy.
