![]() Busy week on the road and heading to Tampa in a few hours.. Magna 5 features Einstein back on the grass in the Gr. I Gulfstream Park Turf, a scenario that cost a group of us this same weekend's M5 hit in 2006.
MAGNA 5 LAUREL 10th (4:39p): MD Racing Media H., F&M-3+, 9f (Super) Best Value: #3 Hanalei Bay 10-1 3rd Most Likely: #8 Cryptoquip 5-2 WON Next Best: #6 Take a Check 3-1 7th Exotics Add: #2 All Smiles 8-1 2nd SANTA ANITA 4th (5:03p): CLM, 4+, 6f (P3, DD, Super) Best Value: #5 Currency Trader 4-1 2nd-DH Most Likely: #7 New Rule 5-2 8th Next Best: #4 Midnight Cabinet 7-2 6th Exotics Add: #2 Swing Your Partner 4-1 2nd-DH GULFSTREAM 9th (5:15p): GP Turf (Gr. I), 4+, 11f-T (DD, Super) A very good edition of this race where Helen Pitts' Einstein makes another appearance having a win and placement in it the last 2 years. Will be tough again entering affair on same run-up as prior pair. BC Turf runner up Shamdinan makes 4yo debut, but Angel Penna told me Wednesday that he's not happy starting the French-bred out at the mile and three-eighths distance but had no other options available to him. Classy but gives recency away to many here. Romans' Thorn Song saves ground nd should get first run on Einstein; Zann makes first start for KMc and Neal McLaughlin told me this week they expect a big try; Dave is in career best form for Tagg and while hard to see as a winner here, has chance to light tote underneath.. Best Value: #2 Thorn Song 8-1 8th Most Likely: #4 Einstein 6-1 WON Next Best: #7 Shamdinan 4-1 9th Exotics Add: #3 Zann 6-1 5th; #1 Dave 10-1 6th SANTA ANITA 5th (5:34p): ALW/N1X, 4+, 1m-T (P6, P3, DD, Super) Best Value: #10 Tent 15-1 3rd Most Likely: #2 SCR Next Best: #5 Liver 9-2 6th Exotics Add: #4 Gregorian Bay 6-1 7th GULFSTREAM 10th (5:44p): MSW, 3yo, 7f (Super) Best Value: #7 Tiz to Dream 12-1 4th Most Likely: #2 ANACHRONISM 5-2 2nd Next Best: #11 Zaftig 6-1 WON Exotics Add: #9 Timber Trick 6-1 7th <$150/<$50 Magna 5 Plays (with wide &/or back-up options): A: 6-8 (2-3) B: 5-7 C: (2/SCR)-5-10 D: 2-4 (3) E: <2> (7-9-11) 4x2x3x3x1 = 72 x $2 = $144 2x2x3x2x1 = 24 x $2 = $48 Good luck!
