Finding vouchers at track

As I was making a bet using a betting kiosk, there was a $530 dollar voucher left. I turned it in and was told to wait, then overheard that funds had been used. The tellers then ask me if I relinquish claim of ticket, I go yes it's not mine, they radio something back to whoever, thank me and tell me that's it.

Just want to know if it was handled properly and if I had any legal claim to money which is why I was asked if I relinquish claim. I've been playing horses since 97 and this is first time I've had this happen. I wouldn't take money or make a claim since it's not mine even if I had some entitlement to it, especially if some poor guy forgot his voucher.
