Cutler gave up lots of terrible, terrible balls this year, including several red zone picks that were totally his fault, but I also saw several of his billion picks come on receivers cutting routes short, running off where they weren't supposed to be, and more than his share of plain old unlucky ones.

He was terrible this year for the most part, but the one thing (really the only thing) that makes me feel better is that the ones that were the fault of his receiver should go down as time goes on. We don't have a top receiver who has been in the league more than three years. Some of them have a good deal of talent (ie Aromashodu went gangbusters when he came back from injury this year, Knox has lots of potential), and I think that with time, as they get better, we'll see much better work from them and in turn, much better work from Cutler with their help. Come on -- most teams have a legit wide receiver with more experience than our top 4 combined

Admittedly a little bit of hometown wishful thinking, but also, admittedly not without a good deal of logic, either.

None of those guys are number one or two receivers. They are number 3 receivers at best on most teams but more like 4 or 5 guys.

You can't bring a guy like Cutler in, drop those kind of draft picks and money for him, and then have him throwing to hester, bennett and Knox. The only one in his arsenal that was starting NFL caliber was Olson.

A number one receiver and a new coordinator should help immensely.
