no, i just don't get the negativity. only auburn has a better record this year than lsu. we have the same record as arkansas.
bama has three, florida has four or five losses...what's the deal? does anyone really expect a team to win every game, every year? we've won two rings in the last few years, which is two more than most teams will ever get a sniff at, let alone a shot at getting to the title game. les has one of the best records in the game, but he sucks?? yeah, ok.

College football isnt the NFL. Wins and losses get you everywhere in the NFL, but in college football it is in many ways how you win. We dont have to win games the way Miles has won them. With the total botching of games, calls, the clock, etc., he has jeopardized the lifeblood of our program, which are the recruits. Do you think the best players in the country want to come where players like Trindan Holliday and Russell Sheppard sat largely unused, meanwhile Jordan Jefferson (no Cam Newton by a longshot) is the centerpiece of an offense that cant move the ball against the likes of ULM and La Tech. There are a half dozen blue chip WR hanging around the sidelines, while Jefferson is running option plays over the R/L guard for losses, all the time chewing the clock to pieces, while behind/not ahead in the game. The D mailed it in a long time ago. They have sat by and watched firsthand what I have described to a T. I can tell you from firsthanded information, by someone who "has a key to this town" based on his participation on one of our national championship teams, that you will hear some serious rumblings soon..............

Thought you might like this.

From a Michigan grad who I don't think would make it up:

Is anybody on the board familiar with what actually transpired with the Carr/Herbie/Miles thing?

Does anyone recall how Carr felt about Miles, what Miles had been saying about Carr and how hard Miles had lobbied for the job? Does anyone recall how it was a member of Carr's camp who leaked to Herbie and told him to run with the breaking news that Miles was a done deal ....?

And that by putting Miles in such a situation you were forcing him out of the running??

Anyone ... anyone??

it's the kind of stuff that makes me question my continuing being an lsu fan. i adopted them when i moved here. i'm a lifelong penn state fan, but wanted to root for a team closer to home. any idea of that being arkansas was out of the question, as i've never liked them. but this witchhunt mentality, the must win all games or the coach gets the axe type stuff is ridiculous. the most important key to a good program is continuity. les miles has done some outstanding things since being here, but the attitude towards someone with a great record at a school, including a title, has me wondering what the hell people really expect. if he leaves i won't blame him, as he certainly hasn't been appreciated by many 'fans' who are more fanatic than fan. i'll wish him well when he does go. i also know that last night is the last game i ever go to see live, with arkansas fans throwing things at me and my husband, yelling that lsu fans love hitler, and that les miles is a pedophile. these freaks can have it; i'll stick to hockey.

i remember when it all came out..and i remember les coming out and saying he was staying, removing the drama from the locker room. then i remember us winning vs tenn later that day to get the sec championship, and ultimately, the trip to the title game. which we won. damn that les miles. how dare he give up a dream he's had for years, how dare he put the team he was with first. that guy's a jerk.

You should go back to being a State Penn fan. When you beat Alabama and you still have two losses then that is a bad season in SEC land.

I am utterly devastated over the loss to South Carolina, LSU and Auburn. It is completely unacceptable.

wouldn't it anger you if people started bashing saban over this season? that's what i don't understand, and i don't agree with it. i don't get why people are unhappy with miles at all. i think the expectations are just too high for these sec teams. some of the fans are really putting me off the sport.
and i'll always root for penn state. maybe that's one of my frustrations-psu is a storied team for many reasons-and look how many coaches they've run thru.
i'm disappointed we lost yesterday, i was disappointed we lost to auburn. i thought we should have won that game. but i'm not going to lose my head over it, or holler that the coach needs to go. that's ridiculous.

I think the focus should be on McElwain. He should thank his lucky stars the defense hid some of the flaws on offense last year. He was exposed as an average OC this year.

I'm hoping he gets a head coaching gig but any sane person wouldn't offer him a dime.

Also when you get the recruiting classes like LSU and Alabama do the expectations are automatically national championship contention and at worst a BCS bowl.

Striving for excellence is a good thing, Zig. You can go back to being a hardcore Penn State fan but they're losers. In fact I think some of their fans are turned on by old men who don't know when to quit.

lol
it's a shame we lost that qb prospect to baseball. he probably would have been good.
and i get striving for excellence. i don't get bashing the coach. but it sure has been quiet since we lost to aub, before yesterday that is. i mean, it's not like we've got jerry dinardo still.

i look for malzahn to get a head coaching job. i told some ark fans he could come back here and coach for them when petrino goes to dallas! they didn't find that funny, while conceding that petrino certainly won't retire here.
but then, has a coach retired in the sec since bear?

Any real LSU fan knows the answer to your question, and it is a coach who is in the college football hall of fame who is from LSU, and his name is Cholly Mac.........

For the record, my point was the style of play that is going on on the field, that is being controlled by the coaches, not the players. Who else are you going to bash besides the coach. Some of the most exciting football ever played here in my lifetime was when Arnsparger was coach, and he never won a national championship. He had a strong D mentality, and an offensive attack that tried to punch instead of being punched first.

I guess if your standards of a coach don't include championships then yes.
