Default Bordonaro - 119 Beyer

Is this really true!!! He gets the highest buyer of the year last weekend???? I don't know what he did to earn it, but I don't think horse is going to get the nod over Henny.

116 for Thor's Echo? Forgive me for being a little skeptical. Doesn't matter anyways since the weenie connections don't want to run him with less than 6 weeks rest.

Exactly, Thor's Echo running his lifetime best by 11 points is a little hard to believe. I think these numbers are inflated.

This begs the question and I believe I'm paraphrasing Randy Moss here, but why didn't they pick a prep race 6 weeks before the BC then? It's not like he wasn't working steadily for a long time before the Ancient. This is the one horse that I think could give Henny a run for his money.

Pretty darn soft schedule this year for a gelding who's not even going to the BCS if you ask me.

Where'd you see that, Ateam? I read this morning in either DRF or Bloodstock Journal that Spawr said it was 50-50, and they would decide by Oct 23.

Latest news I got..

"Bordonaro, who earned a career high 119 Beyer Speed Figure winning Saturday's Grade 1 Ancient Title Breeders' Cup, would also have to be supplemented to start in the Sprint, and trainer Bill Spawr said earlier this week that would not be likely."

- DRF.

I guess it's not 100% he's not going, but Spawr seems like he doesn't want to wheel him back in four weeks after that big effort.

This isn't college football's BCS, soft schedule ???? Think he might have some issues or maybe the connections just hate winning ? Count Fleet + Ancient Title are not exactly Flinger Lakes Cup and Great Lakes Hdcp.

ateam, this was in today's Bloodstock Journal:

"BORDONARO (Memo [Chi]), winner of last Saturday's Ancient Title Breeders' Cup S. (G1), could be supplemented to the November 4 Breeders' Cup Sprint (G1) at Churchill Downs, trainer Bill Spawr reports. "We're 50-50," Spawr said. "We'll decide by the 23rd (of October). He came out of the race as good as or better than any race, and that's hard to believe because he ran seven and change (1:07 4/5 for six furlongs). I thought he might bounce, but he didn't. He would have to be supplemented, and I think it's $130,000, plus about $50,000 to enter and such, is what I'm told. He's not the best shipper, so we would have to make sure he's comfortable.".."

Thanks Dunbar, but I still believe, from what I've been seeing, that Spawr really doesn't want to go, and if he does, it'll be because of the pressure from owners/fans/writers/etc.

With those comments he has zero excuse for not coming. Maybe we will get a price on Henny better than 6-5.

I dont give beyer speed figs any weight when capping,
but I do know the top 2 ran lights out the other day.

TEcho ran a winning race. Just got beat by a total sprinting freak.

IF Bord runs in the BCS, I still feel he is the most likely winner.
