![]() It's time to retire Naughty New Yorker he has earned a million dollars and gone to the gate 62 times. Let the old boy enjoy the rest of his days!

You might want to read this: http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/hor...ory?id=5409052 I'm happy to call for the retirement of a horse that is being ill used. That's not what's happening here. He's still at stakes level, could actually win another one one of these days (although opportunities are harder to come by at his level), and is probably one of the better cared for older horses out there. He could certainly run next year. I could've sworn he was a gelding, but apparently not. If you did retire him, he'd just spend his time figuring out whom to bite and, from what I can tell, enjoying himself far less than if you let him run. That's where he gets his kicks, and he's hardly in the claiming basement. He's doing just fine. There are horses that need to be saved from the slaughter pen. If we're prioritizing, he's not at the top of the list of animals who need to be rescued and retired. He doesn't need anyone to lead a crusade on his behalf. |

![]() Siena is the horse whisperer. Too bad the horses he's whispering to are deaf.
