![]() Which horse or horses do you think deserved to have won the Triple Crown that didn't? Which horse deserved his name right along side the immortal 11 as a triple crown winner?
Some arguee that no horse has ever deserved to have the title of Triple Crown winner next to his name that didn't win the triple crown. They feel, "If a horse is good enough to win the triple crown he'll win it and if he's not than the racing god's won't let him win". But if you disagree with this than which horse in your estimate deserved to win the triple crown that did not? |

![]() There are a few super-horses I feel should have won the triple crown that didn't.
I think the top three horses who didn't win the triple crown that deserved to are: Alydar, Native Dancer and Spectacular Bid. Other horses who I feel were triple crown worthy: Sunday Silence, and though I don't know much about him Afleet Alex. Afleet Alex seemed like a true superhorse from the small ammount I've seen him do. Man O' War would have won the triple crown in my estimate had he run in all three triple crown races. can't argue with the three listed, that's for sure. i'd add northern dancer and riva ridge. absolutely agree that man o'war most likely was a winner had he run in the derby. as for afleet alex, he was no superhorse. |

![]() This is kind of silly... How can a horse who did not even run in all 3 races be on this list? If thats the case, then why not Bernardini? His Preakness was huge, and Im positive he was more talented then Barbaro....
I do agree with Point Given though. |

![]() See Doug, I told you Barbaro was a better horse than Bernardini.

![]() In retrospect, Man O War and Native Dancer and Bid probably proved most worthy. MOW was never able to try and ND was nosed in the Derby after a bad trip and while I love him Bid was probably not at his best beyond 10f.
Beyond that I'd give honorable mention to Damascus and even Tim Tam who was second in the Belmont on a busted leg, as well as Sunday Silence. (Easy Goer's ankles were not as troubled by the wide turns at Belmont.)

I think the world of Barbaro, I loved him... I think Bernardini would have won the Preakness had Barbaro not gone down. |

![]() Charismatic. I honestly believe he wins if he doesn't get hurt. It's odd that his name doesn't come up that often when talking TC near misses, he had a legit excuse.

![]() He was a beautiful horse, but man, that crop sucked. He really wasn't that great a runner.

![]() I agree with your statement wholeheartedly. I don't believe comparatively he may stack up talent wise to most of the other near missers, but I think he should have won the TC.

![]() i liked Afleet Alex. he might not have been a "super horse" but as he matured he was going to be awful tough to beat. his Belmont may have been more impressive than his Preakness. by Belmont history, the only final split faster than AA was Secretariat. AA won by 10? or more?

![]() There are a few horses that deserved it ,Point Given,Smary Jones, Sunday Silence, Silver Charm, Afleet Alex and even Real Quiet, But no horse deserves it more than SPECTACULAR BID. He was probably the best horse ever to look through a bridle.
