Default Questionable takedown in the Belmont 7th

I just watched this a few more times and I think I'm even more baffled. I've had take downs before where I felt it was very obvious that cost me money. This one cost me the exacta and the double going into the eighth, but judging by some of the post yesterday it cost others (including Andy) much more.
The 7 horse Timber cat never lost stride and was only slightly carried out by Muy Guapo. Maybe I'm wrong, but take a look for yourself and see what you think.

They made the right call.
I did not bet the race either.

I guess that's pretty much my question as well.

Didn't seem like much of an infraction. I guess that winning margain came into play. If it wins by open lengths, I doubt they even take much of a look.

Kenny P and I both had the 11 and thought the margin of victory definitely played into the decision. In the end, it didnt matter for me as I did not have the #1 horse in the nightcap on my P4 ticket.

I'm horribly biased given the way I wagered but I really don't think anyone who regularly watches NYRA can see there being any justification for that DQ. This was the first time in years a horse was put up who never steadied, never lost momentum, and never had his path taken.

i agree too and i did not bet until the 8th. if i had that horse i would of been pissed. but , thats what you get from old people that can't see so well or make the clearest judgements. i'm 47 and i don't try to play hardball anymore. this has been going on for years in NY. i still remember when they actually took the wrong horse down after the usual 10 minute delay. they need competent people that give details for their reasoning. a new york players worst nightmare is a blinking number.......its been this way for years and years.

I've been beaten by take downs before. In fact 95% of the time I can usually tell if they are going to take a horse down. When they started blinking the number after frigging sweating out the photo I was laughing at the claim. On the replays they were showing during the review I was so confident there was nothing I stopped watching and started looking over a race at a different track.

Normally you just dust yourself off and move on. This one made me angry. It felt like I was robbed. It makes you not even want to wager the remainder of the day. Andy seemed visibly upset for the remainder of the card. One other thing worth mentioning are the jocks involved. It's Cohen vs. Santiago. If the claim was against Dominguez, Prado, Gomez, Velazquez, etc. there is no way this horse comes down. Anyway, its over I hope this never happens to any of you or me again.

By the way, if you had Timber cat...Congratulations you were given a frigging gift.

You cannot imagine how well ......I have had more good days in this game than I deserve but have never had a take down lead to the sequence this one did.....I just can't see how this was a consistent decision with the standard required to alter an outcome but I will not be writing any letters of complaint.
