In this case I was joking about it because as the poster responded it was all information that was in the paper. To say " I happen to know " sort of implies that you have some inside info when in this case it was both obvious and public.

I don't really play the insider role...I am an insider....but I don't think you will find me repeating things or boldly stating I know some sort of inside info. I am amazed that people would repeat things they may have heard in confidence on message boards ( which is why I don't trust most of what I read in that vein ). I just find all the hand waving amusing.

He is a NY (NYRA) insider. He would know nothing about Ballydoyle.

Really...who knew you were an " insider " on me.

I know a whole helluva lot more, apparently, than you think you know.

GW will be running in the BC Mile or no Breeders Cup races. The Classic for GW is a non-issue because he is not going to run in that race. GW is about 74% for the BC Mile. If not the mile, then no race in the US.

So lemme get this straight, do you actually speak to Aidan O'Brien?
My guess is that it goes more like this.
The breeders call out of interest, to the guy who owes them nothing since they only bred the horse, they don't own it or have any influence in even the slightest way, and O Brien says to be polite, perhaps this. The breeders tell a few folks, including your friend, what the speculative plans are. your friend tells you.
I guess this is the definition of an insider at Ballydoyle.

Or do you actually speak to O'Brien?

GW is more impressive because of the horses he has been facing. His turn of foot is more impressive because it is against other horses with good turn of foot. Deep Impact has been facing (IMO) lesser horses, therefore his turn of foot looks more impressive. You can think what you want and I hope you are right, but IMO Deep Impact will not come close to winning the Prix.

Did you like that 74% - HA HA. I always get tired of people using 75, 80, 85 as numbers--ha ha.

I think you are correct on this one.

Not AO. Tim Corballis. You really have no idea how this business works.

Noone comes here representing themselves as an insider. I mean, what kind of label is that anyway?
And people who do have inside information on certain events that connections are considering or certain events that are happening, will not post them here. They know better than to take information that is given to them in confidence and repeat it on a message board before it has been made public.
Sure, I gave Steve a few scoops, but only after getting the permission of the people who gave me the info to call a friend in journalism.
No insider wants to be referred to as such, nor does he or she care.
And no insider is gonna post info that has not been cleared by the source to be broadcast in public, lest they lose that privilege and source.

No. I am in NY for a wedding. Little brother is at the library. I guess people don't like it when they get corrected when posting things they know nothing about.

Stick to buying horses off the track. Being in a winners circle photo means nothing and you know that. Who is your friend that knows Dr. O'Byrne? I actually saw Hawk Wings first foal last year at Bryanstown House. I am very curious who you would know that is friends with Dr. O'Byrne. Your story sounds pretty unlikely.

The original poster said he knew George Washington was coming for the BC Mile. It is possible, but no decision has been made. His post was incorrect. I guess people can post anything on these boards and nobody questions them. I was amused by his 74% number, proving my point.

Maybe the original poster should take your advice. Then again, it seems you have zero accountability on these boards. Say whatever you want, nobody in the business cares about your opinion. In fact, with the exception of a few NY people, most have never heard of you. You might want to rethink how close you are with Seth too. I am not sure he thinks of you as a friend.

I dont believe the orginal poster - which is me - ever said GW is 100% for the Mile. I think the original poster - which is me - said words like IT APPEARS and APPARENTLY--now if those two words mean 100% then I need a new dictionary. Here is the original post.

Well it appears that the BC Mile is now over. I believe GW is going to go in the mile. He will destroy this field with great ease. What is great about this move is that it may set-up a showdown between Gorella and Ouija Board in the Filly and Mare Turf. Boy what a great race that is going to be. I would lean towards OB because of who she has been up against, but Gorella is where my heart is. But keep in mind that they both have to catch Wait A While--remember Intercontinental last year. Maybe we will see a repeat performace by Wait A While.
