Acorn; jockey question
Can someone tell me why Velazquez wouldn't ride Adieu in this spot? Gomez has never ridden the horse before, Velazquez is healthy, rode her nearly all of last year, and doesn't have another mount in the race! The only thing I can think of is Pletcher promised Gomez the ride not thinking JV would be back in time for Belmont day, but I don't think that's too likely.
Any insight? It's also interesting that Dutrow is swapping jockeys on his two fillies. Oracle, you have anything on this?

Honestly, I have no idea why Rcik switched em up Ateam.
As far as Johnny on Adieu, I think hes really limiting himself to thefew races he is riding in order to insure that his strength doesn't slip before the Belmont. I wouldn't really read much into any of those deals. Its a wide open race.

She probally isn't ready to give her best effort. You notice that even though Gomez won the only grade 1 of English Channels career they took him off but yet Johnny V won't ride Adieu SEEMS FISHY TO ME. I would almost put money on it that JV would like to see a Pletcher horse with Gomez at 9-5 get stomped.
