I disagree.... If she goes undefeated winning the Distaff again, who cares? We all know she should win that race, she would be 1-5. If she goes in the classic and losses, I dont think you can take anything away from her. If she wins, then you talk about one of the best of all time. The 2 Euros that are def. coming are REALLY GOOD... But I beleive she would have a legit chance over that surface.

At this point, there's more to gain in the Distaff. She's not going to win HOY if she wins the Classic. That would really have been the only point in sending her there. Being one race away from passing Personal Ensign's record and finishing undefeated is probably bigger to them than beating the boys. Despite what they say in that article though, after how cautious they've been for two years, I don't see them all of a sudden getting a heart when they are so close to the finish line and perfection.

There is nothing at all to gain running in the distaff, IMO. If he runs in the classic and beats a group of 13... She would have a solid chance at HOY.

She shouldn't run at all.

And while we're at it Shirreffs and Moss should get sex changes. It's in their best interests.

I know your ****ing around, but I beleive she should run in the Classic or not at all. If she goes in the Distaff and is defeated, shes SCREWED. No legacy no nothing... Some people think Carless Jewel is legit comp. I really dont, but who knows? Music Note is a lot better now then she was last year, a lot faster...I think they have to go Classic.

There's nothing to gain in the Classic. She might get your vote and maybe mine if she won the Classic but we don't have votes and those that do have already given it to Rachel. If she had a legit chance at the title, I'd say go for it. But she doesn't.

I disagree. Undefeated, Classic vs the boys, IMO would get it done.

i agree with you.

rather than people looking at this situation and putting what they'd do in the place of what shirreffs and the mosses will do, you have to look at the whole picture, and what they've had to say for two years now. they've never run this mare anywhere halfway gutsy. she's rewarded them by tying personal ensign. one more win, she surpasses that horse. the distaff would be as close as a lock for her as you can get. she's rewarded two years of racing and perfect handling by her trainer and owners with a perfect record. i don't see them changing course now, at this late stage. a loss would be one fear, we all know what their other fears would be-and with what has been said in the past about this mare facing colts, i just don't see them changing their minds now.
zenyatta may race again past the bc and into the spring. she could be bred and still run a few more months. if they have the record set by pepper's pride in their sights, she could very well be the one to break it. the chances of that happening if she leaves the usual suspects is somewhere between slim and none.

it isn't the route i'd like to see, but i believe that is the route you will see-regardless of what the fans want.

Actually, wouldn't she need to win the Classic to surpass Personal Ensign's racing career (and that's ignoring that the latter was top class for 3 racing seasons, not 2)?

she's going for the 14/14-obviously she's not really in the same class as personal ensign...just like pepper's pride isn't better than citation and cigar just because she surpassed their win streak record.

HOY... BFD really does it matter who is Horse of the Year. If I own the horse I put her in the best spot to score 60% of the 4 million dollar purse. With her body of work to date what actually does HOY buy her?

She wont run in the Classic. Its absurb to believe this BS. I bet they were paid by the BC for those quotes to promote this event. This is almost as stupid as believing Rachel Alexandra was still going to run another race this year.

And Music Note a lot better now then she was last year?
Did you see her last race? Scrubbing to get by a horse in foal who has been in terrible form this year?

have you ever heard of Personal Ensign before you made this comment? Personal Ensign's record is about 4 million times greater than Zenyatta's.

But I'll give ya Pepper.
