Default Magnificient Song and GG

Fantastic ride by Gomez.
Taken up with patience, felt the pace coming into the far turn, started to move around far turn, saw he was going to get crushed, held up just a moment without ruining the momentum of the horse and then followed Carriage Trial. Cut nicely outside of the pack at the proper spot with plenty of horse and wins going away.

Very well done. Excellent.

And none of this oh well he was riding chalk stuff. This race was up for grabs.

Matt Corothers said it was a lucky win on TVG cause the race set up for the horse but I would say it would take a jock with a clock to take back to last and drop some 15 out of it and still win by 2 going away, GG for my money is no doubt one of the best I have ever see closing on a horse and I used love Eddie D but with a new time comes new talent I still like playing him on the lead cause i seen what he did a gew times at Saratoga putting them all to sleep going up the backside and then turning it into a 2 Furlong sprint he burnt me that day and i will be damned if i let that undersized man get me again Can't Beat EM Join EM

The race was a good pace so it did set up for him and plenty of others. The gentle hold applied before they got into the second turn was the key. That was a great feel for the race. He would have gotten stuck if he had not pulled that. And he did it without losing momentum. Like I said, a putters touch. well done.

I think Magnificent Song deserves some of the credit.. She just keeps on rolling.

And as for this being a bad G1.. Yeah, maybe. But I'd take a competitive 12-horse field like this over the usual five and six-horse fields we've been getting in these 3-year-old filly races.
