There are stallions out there with several crops on the ground who've been on this earth as long as Better Talk Now.

Poor old Brass Hat. He used to be one of the best dirt horses in the world (see Donn H and Dubai World Cup finishes). Hasn't been the same since he came back from Dubai and the last couple of injuries. I realize he is the only Big Horse in a small stable and they want him to still be a stakes horse but he may not have it anymore. I've loved him since he won the Rushaway as a maiden (had him in the CITGO/Pick 6 contest), I just hope he will come out of this race safe and with some dignity intact.

Enough... You're so preposterous and full of crap that I can't help myself any more. Some dignity? If you actually had any real interest or knowledge or watched the races, you might actually have noted his wide rallying try in the Munoz last out beaten less than two lengths by Proudinsky and Nownownow that earned a 97 Beyer, his best yet on the lawn in his 6th grass race.

He hasn't been the same since he came back from Dubai? You mean other than winning the '07 Mass Cap (98 Beyer); running a just-missed second in the '07 Clark (102 Beyer); a 4th beaten 3L in the '08 Donn (102 Beyer); and mid-90 Beyer 3rds-5ths in 5 graded stakes since the Donn? In the actual real racehorse world, he is the EXACT same horse more or less at 8 as he was at 6 and 7.

I'll let Buff Bradley know how concerned you are about his family and the gelding's dignity. Brass Hat looks terrific and Bradley said hours ago he expects a big effort in the Elkhorn.

Makes you wonder how good this horse could have been... I mean he won the Donn for BUFF BRADLEY. He may be the best horse to ever draw a breath.

Hey, you can have your own Brass Hat for as little as $3500 - that's what Prized is standing for these days in Charles Town in any event.

Before he went to Dubai he would have eaten horses like A P Arrow, Spring at Last, Grasshopper, and Barcola for lunch. So whom did he beat in the Mass Cap? Those first class pretenders Fairbanks and Dr. Pleasure. If the Bradleys are happy to have him run third and fourth in better stakes races, that is their privilege. They bred him and I'm sure they love him better than anybody.

Sudden War running puts a damper on my enthusiasm for Buddy's Humor.

Stonegossard also thanks you for sticking up for his favorite horsey.

Brass Hat is one of my all time favorites. I Was at GP when he broke the track record inthe slop. When he is on his game he is a very good horse. That being said I think the connections are doing their best to run this horse into the ground. He has had like 2-3 major injuries and honestly hasn't done much since he lost to AP Arrow in The Clark in 2007. Sure he closed with a suck up 5th last time out at FG, but it wasn't anything special. His race before at TP was a disaster.

Like I said, am a huge fan of the horse, but the connections are really embarassing themselves by continuing to run him in spots he doesn't belong. Unless Bradley is hurting for money, he should retire the horse. Even so is still ridiculous to keep running this horse considering his past.

I'm not sure what that means but if he can't win against those he should be retired asap.
