Tomorrow marks the begining of the academic school year, which for me means a return to 65 hour work weeks with endless hours of reading, writing, and (worst of all) grading the exams and papers of idiotic undergraduates. I tell you this because I probably won't have any time to come on here anymore to talk about (and argue) horses with people.
I just want to take a moment to again thank Steve and everyone that has spent so much time putting this great board together. I have really enjoyed it and I have learned a lot about this game from some of you. Make sure you guys never take it for granted.

Thanks again and maybe I'll talk to you again next spring.

Yeah we have tickets so I am taking that weekend off and my wife and I are making the drive down to CD. Should be fun.
I probably will make time to stop by here that week to see all the debates about those races. Other than that weekend I'll pretty much be working EVERY SINGLE DAY until Christmas. It sucks.

Yeah, I go back to school tomorrow also but my schedule isnt nearly as hectic as yours. Hit up class every once in a while, sleep a lot, battle Pittsburgh traffic during both rush hours, and sit on a computer in the lab and talk the ponies. Grading papers - give the hott chicks an A, most people a B, and the pains in the ass a C. Like Danzig said, stop back a little if you get the chance and hang in there! The Derby is only 251 days away!

times must have changed since I graduated in 2004...65hrs? I'd spend 65 hours of a week being useless, drinking beer and looking for fresh ass.

Thanks for doing the job. My hubby is also a professor at a state university, but he teaches science courses, where the grading does not require as much reading. I can't imagine reading that many essays critically; when I taught sophomore math classes, my brain would turn to mush after just a couple of hours grading homework. And I would get vindictive! After I saw the same wrong answer a dozen times or so, I started to feel "I already told you this is not right!" Bizarre, huh?

Thanks Ann, but I have not reached the professor level yet. I am still a couple of years away from getting my PhD. For the time being I am but a lowly TA/Grad Student.

And by the way Suffolk Shippers, my undergraduate experience was pretty much one big party too. But working on a PhD is a different can of worms.
