Default War Front

I guess we all got a chance to see who the real deal was in the Vanderbilt. Afra-fraud finally met his match. Nice performance by the winner.

Anytime Allen Jerkens calls a horse one of the best hes ever trained, one has to listen. Those were his words all the way back in January, before he raced this year. Unfortunately he gets hurt, but Jerkens does a hell of a job getting him back better than ever.

BC Sprint, look out.

To me this is clearly the best 6F sprinter there is in training right now. He showed all the naysayers yesterday that he does not need the lead to win. I knew he'd get the same kind of trip that nearly worked at Gulfstream earlier in the year, but the Chief has got this horse cranked so tight right now. He would have beaten anybody yesterday.

Many will attribute his win to the fast fractions in front of him and his perfec trip, but believe me, he would have won with any trip yesterday.
And if the fractions were so perfectly fast, where the hell was Mass Media to take advantage of them?

This horse is the real deal.

I feel shameful for even admitting to using Afrashad on the pick 4 ticket with War Front...

I was going to also use him Kev, but decided WF was as worthy a single as anyone. I didnt spread as wide as I had posted on here, rather played:

$20 pick 4- War Front/Film Maker, Rich in Spirit/Relaxed Gesture/Better Talk Now, Ace

You catch Tin Man i see? hope it helped you out.

my pick 4 was War Front, afradshad/Gorella,Film,Honey/RG,Go Deputy/EC $12 for $1.

hindsight is 20/20, but WF was clearly best....I loved Gorella...RG, GO Dep i thought were the only two that had a chance in the Sword....should have gone deeper in the million....oh well.

Ya I did Kev, screwy day, started drinking beers, hanging out with some friends who lets just say arent track savvy, so I was out of my element.

Burned a lot of money on Sarah's Prospect in the Monmouth 9th, and the late double at Saratoga but the Tin Man actually made it a good day after all was said and done. Had a blast and paying for it right now. I'm so hungover I could jump through my window and not feel it.

I thought about having a few screwdrivers at the track yesterday and let Stacy drive and then I remembered I haven't had a drop of alcohol in over a month...and didn't realize it....

How much Swedish fish can I get for $20???? joking...

Tim...I knew it was gonna be a long day when I went to make a $20 win bet on Party Fever in the first at Delaware yesterday and the butt monkeys that come to the track on closing day have no clue...I kid you not, this gentleman in front of me was trying to play a .10 EXACTA BOX....and he had the nerve to argue with me that he could.....of course Party Fever goes gate to wire...wins for fun and pays $15

No doubt talented, but he looked a little funny coming home, with his soundness issues, I hope he makes it to the BC. Jerkens made some comment about seeing how he pulls up.

Gander you are crazy to think he is the best sprinter in training right now. The field for the this race was OK and the track was favoring whoever got the lead turning for home. The horse came home in an extremely slow time and he was all over the track. Heck, Silver Train (who I dont like) would have passed him by on any track other than saratoga. War Front will get demolished in the BCS.

Demolished??!!
By who exactly? Name one horse right now who is better than War Front going 6F?

My only concern is Jerkens wanting to rush this horse along. I read today he is coming back with him in 3 weeks in the Forego at 7F. My thinking is too much too soon for a horse who was layed up 5 months with a pretty serious injury. But what the heck do I know? People thoght he would bounce yesterday and they were wrong.

Tim,
I agree, might be too much too soon. H Allen said he was nursing a hoof problem and credited his stable help for keeping this one sound enough to run.
I hope he came out of the race ok.

Allen has grade one fever right now, a week after winning the Test Stakes, which I wont say was a "lucky win" but lets face it, the race fell apart and only 2 out of 13 horses did any real running- Swap Fliparoo and Original Spin, so it wasnt one of the better grade 1 wins from him. He knows hes got the talent in War Front, just wish he would take his time with him and maybe point towards a littel more out.

Too Much Bling, Henny Hughes, Siren Lure, Songster and Sun King if he goes in the Sprint. All of these horses would crush War Front.

I definitely disagree. He's right up there right now. I was there for his race against Silver Train and it was enormous. He simply bounced off it and still won with ease. He'll be right there if stays in form.

Henny Hughes maybe, but at 6F- Sun King simply no way. Hes not that great a horse to overcome the lengths he would spot horses like Henny and War Front. I dont think Songster or Too Much Bling are quite ready for the older horses yet. Siren Lure is a nice horse but hasnt exactly been beating the best sprinters in the country and I think he may be better on turf.

Thing to remember that is the BC Sprint you are going to get a very very fast pace. Sun King will get a perfect trip and a perfect pace to close into. I can see Sun King doing the same thing as Silver Train did last year.
