Default 6/26: Hollywood 3rd-8th ($747k C/O)

Wild day of P6 racing at Belmont and Hollywood Wednesday with Cali chaos resulting in a three-quarter of a million dollar carryover at Inglewood this aft. The series of outrageous winners started with $17 Chocolate Lava in the third and continued with $33 Glorious Song in the maiden claiming fourth before $29 Crimson Star and $41 Evita Argentina ensured a monster pot for Thursday. 'Best Value' Crimson Star and 5th race victor One on the House ($9.40 as 'Next Best') were the only horses I liked at all in the sextet's wacky results. Today will be fun as you can expect pool to reach $4,000,000...

Belmont was far more rational with its' outcomes, but the 6 there was a tricky ticket to put together. My budget was too small to reach the nice $63,000 return despite identifying plenty of the winners.

Hope you did well...

Fascinating conditional event with some excellent veterans and fancy undefeated Mandella newcomer Tall Texan. Field has earned more than $2,000,000 combined, including ol' stakes characters Declan's Moon and Southern Africa. Zappa returns here from brief freshening, and its' hard to believe he doesn't own a class edge. However, even Carla Gaines' Luhuk's Dancer deserves a look in this as virtuaklly all can win...

With the weather not the culprit, when's the last time an entire Hollywood card was set up without carding a turf race?

My guess they are having problems filling races, with the Del Mar meet coming up.

Now is when you start seeing this 145-200 day layoffs come back and run 4th-5th, when all they were doing is treating it as a tightener for where the turf meets the surf.

Be nice to have some "all turf" days at Del Mar. Actually, be nice if the whole meet was "all turf." They would destroy the lawn by mid-August though.

Do you have a good idea what it would have paid if the Ann's Approval horse had come in for ya?
