No idea yet, by the way I tried your phone twice today, and got the answering machine. Heading to the track soon, talk to you after the races.

I haven't seen the Beyer but I'm projecting about a 108. Whatever the number is, it should be pointed out that AP rarely cards races at 1 3/16 miles so if you see a 114 or a 102, I'd be very leery of it.

Boldruler was talking about the time not being legit either, so I am guessing they are going to look at it because the mile was 131 or something.....

Worst thing that happened was when the Gabriels left Arlington, the place has fallen apart. On track commentary is horrendous and the racing secretary is just ridiculous. He has been carding some off the wall type distances for Arlington, ones I have never seen before. I have never seen a 7f race at Arlington, until this year....Also, he has been carding some weird turf distance also

Yeah the mile time was 131 and change which can't be right. Arlington has its problems but they put on one of the best cards in all of racing next weekend.

Bold, your out of control. it is a top 15 card on the year, only because of the three turf races. The first 6 races are mostly garbage, better then most weekends at Arlington.

As far as talented horses, Million Day is Arlington's highest, but as far as wagering opportunities, Illinois Day is by far the best card to play at Arlington.

This year the two out of the three seem pretty easy. Showing Up in the Secretariat (I am praying for a huge field here to help with odds), and Gorella in the Beverly D (she will absolutely LOVE the configuration at Arlington). Not really sure what is going on with the Million as there is no Powerscourt this year

It is a top 15 card because there are 3 grade 1's on the same card. How often does that happen? I am not sure it even happens at Saratoga. There are also three minor stakes on the card. That is pretty good, especially if you like turf racing like I do.

If O'Brien brings Ivan over, Showing up might be in trouble, Ivan was a late supplement and ANYTHING O'Brien brings over to Arlington is live

I have never seen SO MANY nominations for all three Arlington races, at least in the last 5 years....Two years ago 10 horses nominated to the Secretariat, this year, their is like 120

those minor stakes races are glorified allowance races

HOW CAN YOU ARGUE WITH SOMEONE THAT LIVES 3 miles from the track and knows EVERYTHING about Arlington racing? seriously

If they run these races back to back like the condition back states (for Arlington, that is pretty close to how they will run the card) i am going to be happier then a 13 year old that just found out to jerk it

Showing Up isn't losing to anyone. Not the way he is right now. Go Between has an outside shot simply because he is improving, but Ivan Denisovich is not beating anyone at 10F. Showing Up likes the heat too (unlike his stablemate), a lot of the Europeans don't.

You still have to tell me where three grade/group 1's are contested at on the same day. It doesn't happen very often.

114 a little high and 102 a little low. I think your 108 is about right. A VERY strong race indeed. I would be good w/ a 110. I would bet him in BCC if he runs. I sure he couldn't handle Bernardini, but he's just getting better, so who knows?

Mike would be better qualified to answer this. But if I had to guess at a couple it would

1) Breeders Cup Day
2) Somewhere on the Keeneland meet
3) Derby Day (maybe only 2 but could have 3 if they wanted)
4) Belmont Day (again, same situation as above)
5) Florida Derby Day
6) California has to have a couple also

You have to realize also that Arlington has ONE DAY a year, where the other tracks space out their Grade 1's to get a constant flow of customers.

If Arlington were to run those races on different days, it wouldn't have the same effect as it does

I would take a meet like Gulfstream, Keeneland, or Saratoga has over Arlington's 1 day anytime, anywhere, any place

I would be cautious of Ivan, he is a monster.

That being said, I have said all along that Showing up with a single, probably my single of the year, but he might become my single of month if Ivan comes

I didn't say Arlington was a good meet, just that million day is one of the top days all year in racing. Three grade 1's in the span of a few hours is unbelievable.

Showing Up has no need to fear any other 3 yr old. The older horses are a problem but Obrien's 3yr old is not. Showing Up seems to even like a soft turf in the morning so fast/yielding, whatever, it doesn't matter. I do wonder how he will fare going 12F against older horses at Belmont, but not 10F against 3yr olds at Arlington.

Actually, it's:
Beldame (G1)
Flower Bowl (G1)
Joe Hirsch (G1)
Jockey Club (G1)
Vosburgh (G1)

Now that's a card!! It's Oc. 7th this year.

That is BC Preview day. It is arguably the 2nd best day of racing every year. The Arlington Day is still a top 15 day.

Maybe that monster should win a race. He has been destroyed in his last two. His last one he finished 8th at Chantilly, with no excuse, against an ok field of horses. His previous race he finished third at Ascot, but the horse that beat him is a monster. These are milers though.
