Would not want to be a ref.
They were holding each other from the
beginning. Ward clearly had the face
mask though.

Then the refs have trouble on the touchdown.
No second half to even things up despite the commercial.

That was not a well officiated game. On the Steelers opening series, there was a clear late hit out of bounds that wasn't called. So obvious even the announcers kept talking about it. There also was an encroachment call on Pitt when a Jags o-linemen moved. Obvious face mask on Hines Ward not called and on the play that was called back due to a phantom holding call, I don't think Ward came down in bounds. Didn't matter since the holding negated it anyways.

Not a well coached game by Tomlin. He went for 2 way too early, and because they missed, the next time they had no choice. And the first time they went for 2 from the 12 after a penalty. Rookie coaching mistake.

exactly, Ward is routinely mentioned as one of the dirtiest players in the NFL year in and year out. He's praised for his "blocking" skills. It's amazing the stuff he gets away with. Another player that is always mentioned along with Hines is Marvin Harrison-lots of low & take out the knee blocks on running plays.

For a guy his size, that's about all he can do. I agree though, he can play dirty with the best of them.

The Hines Ward facemask didnt look intentional to me, altough I was a tanked up boozebag last night. If the recievers on the team that I root for played like Hines does, I'd be pretty damn happy. Being that he's not an Eagle, I don't really care for him.

I thought the late hit was a good no call, it looked like Hines did a somersault to make it look worse than it was. But the zebra's did miss a false start by the Jags on their first TD.
As far as the coaching goes, I thought both head coaches were less than stellar.

Oh yeah, it's always good if guys like him are on your team, but if you play against them you despise them. Funny how that works isn't it? I'd love to have Hines on my team, but I can't stand how everytime he's on tv the announcers constantly praise him. I'll give him credit though, Hines can take a lick across the field from a safety and gets up smiling like its no big deal or it wasn't hard enough.

say what you want. i'd take a receiving corp of hines wards any time.
the 2 pt. catch he made was excellent and IN bounds, the holding call that took it off the board was terrible.
going for 2 from the 12 was actually a pretty good gamble because they had more room to work. the play selection was pretty poor.
