I was wondering why they'd buy him for $300,000 at first and then he becomes a $180,000-190,000 colt. Did he physically develop as less appealing than he was as a weanling? Just strange with his breeding. I know Dynaformers are selling better now and I know that his female family is strong so I thought someone here might have seen him or know what the deal was. "A Dynaformer colt whose second dam is Broodmare of the Year Glowing Tribute was sold for $190,000 to top the Oct. 23 session of the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October yearling sale, which concluded with double-digit increases in gross, average, and median prices. Purchased by Fox Ridge Farm Inc. from the Gainesway consignment, the colt is out of the grade III-winning Chief’s Crown mare Coronation Cup. Coronation Cup is a half-sister to Kentucky Derby (gr. I) winner Sea Hero, to grade I winner Hero’s Honor, and to graded stakes winners Glowing Honor, Mackie, and Wild Applause, the latter a multiple graded stakes producer. The colt was purchased by BGH Ranch for $300,000 at last year’s Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale and then reported sold to Mike Ryan, agent, for $180,000 at last month’s Keeneland yearling sale." ![]() I think he was in the recent Keeneland Select Yearling Sale. Obviously, he didn't reachhis reserve or was pulled from that sale. Might have some sort of physical issue.

![]() Weird. He did sell at Keeneland last month. For $180,000. Guess they got out quick with at any loss.

![]() Most likely Mike Ryan signed the ticket at Keeneland last month representing the owner of the horse who may not have wanted the horse to be RNA. I saw him yesterday at the sale. He was typical Dynaformer though not really straight through the shoulder as they tend to be. I believe he had a chip removed from a hind ankle. Pretty nice looking horse though the first dam has only had one horse make it to the races out of 6 foals of racing age.

I actually had been looking at the shoulder in the pic trying to decide if I liked it that much so that's an interesting take. You saw him in person so I'm sure you're right. It's probably how he's standing or I'm hallucinating. When a chip's removed from the hind ankle how does that affect him later? I mean I know some things are easier to deal with than others in terms of recovery and future recurrence. |
